New world number one Mark Williams is 4-1 ON to reach the Crucible final while semi-final opponent Stephen Lee, the world number seven, is 11-4.

However, when they met at the Regal Masters in Glasgow earlier this season, Lee won 6-0.

It was the first and only whitewash of Williams' career. Don't expect another zero against the 28-year-old left-hander's name after their three-day match -unless you fancy a wager on 2000-1.

Lee denied Marco Fu an opportunity to become the first overseas world champion since Cliff Thorburn in 1980.

"I've been getting better as the matches have gone on," said the former LG Cup and Scottish Open champion following his 13-7 win over Hong Kong qualifier Fu.

"It's just about being mentally sharp. I'm not going to be the fittest person running round the table but I'll just be taking every frame as it comes.

"I'm just looking forward to the one-table situation and it will be absolute different class out there.

"There's a little bit missing from my game because when the long ones go in, you've got to score.

"But it should be a cracking match."

Williams was the first player to book his place in the semi-finals with a 13-7 success over seven-times champion Stephen Hendry.
