Tony Drago does not have long to recover from his dramatic first-round victory at the Embassy World Championship.

The Maltese hot-shot beat twice former semi-finalist Joe Swail 10-8 at the Crucible on Wednesday night.

But Drago is required to be back in action again tonight against defending champion Peter Ebdon, who has had five days off since beating Gerard Greene 10-3 on the opening day.

"I would have loved to have played on Friday instead after coming through this match," Drago admitted.

"But I'm looking forward to playing Peter. He was in fantastic form in the first round and he has had a few days off so he will be fresh and sharp.

"He's always tough. Even if he turns up on one leg he's hard to beat but I will do my best and I know I can beat anybody if I play my best.

"I would like to win the first session but my aim is to get a draw and keep it close because I will be a bit tired."

Drago, a Crucible quarter-finalist on his debut in 1988, has beaten Ebdon three times from nine meetings.

The 37-year-old from Valetta is through to the last 16 of the game's top event for the first time in four years.
