Ronnie O'Sullivan is like a fine wine in that he appears to be getting better with age and once more he will be the man to beat in Sheffield as he bids for a third successive world championship title.
The fact that he can now pick and choose the tournaments he takes part in appears to have given 'The Rocket' a new lease of life after he had threatened to quit the sport on several occasions.
He may have dropped down the world rankings to 33, but he has shown at times this season that his 'A' game is still enough to make him virtually unplayable.
He won the Paul Hunter Classic and Champions of Champions, as well as reaching the Antwerp Open final early on in the campaign.
But it was at the Masters where he really served notice of the form he was in as he beat defending champion Mark Selby 10-4 to win it for a fifth time. But it was his quarter-final against Ricky Walden that sticks in the mind, as he won 6-0 in just 57 minutes and 48 seconds, playing arguably the best snooker of his glittering career.
He also picked up the Welsh Open title in impressive fashion, beating an in-form Ding Junhui in the final 9-3 which he sealed with a maximum 147 break.
If O'Sullivan turns up at the Crucible in that kind of form, then few will be able to stop him winning a sixth world title.
