Drew Henry, a member of Ian Doyle’s CueMasters stable, clinched a top-32 place last season after reaching the second round of the Embassy World Championship.

Victories over Leigh Griffin (10-6), Matthew Couch (10-9) and Jamie Burnett (10-3) booked his third visit to the Crucible, where he beat Mark King 10-8 and then gave eventual winner Mark Williams a run for his money before going down 13-9.

Henry made his Crucible debut in 1994 and almost pulled off a shock victory against John Parrott.

The 1991 world champion looked to be on his way out until Henry suffered an horrendous ‘kick’ in the deciding frame, which allowed his opponent to get back to the table and sneak a 10-9 win.

He returned to Sheffield two years later only to lose to Darren Morgan.

Henry’s career highlight so far is reaching the quarter-finals of the 1996 Regal Welsh. He beat six-times world champion Steve Davis along the way before going out to Paul Hunter.
