MA'A NONU

Born: 21.05.82
Height: 5ft 10in
Weight: 15st 7lb
Position: Centre
Club: Wellington
Caps: 1
Points: 0

An outside centre with just one Test outing under his belt – the loss to England earlier this year – this World Cup should be a great learning experience for Nonu.

A centre who is big, strong and fast, Nonu is unlikely to get much, if any, game time, but the whole experience and the chance to watch first-choice centres Aaron Mauger and Tana Umaga should prove invaluable.

Selected after a fine season with Wellington where he shone with his hard-running and tough-tackling, All Blacks coach John Mitchell says Nonu is "a wonderful attacking threat".

He has formed a superb partnership for the Hurricanes with Umaga, and looks set to be a star of the future.
