KEES MEEUWS

Born: 26.07.74
Height: 6ft
Weight: 19st
Position: Prop
Club: Auckland
Caps: 29
Points: 35

Meeuws has a remarkable try-scoring record for a tight-head prop, crossing for seven Test tries in just 29 outings, including five in 2002 to set a record for a Test prop in a calendar year.

Started his Super 12 career with the Otago Highlanders, before returning to his native Auckland to play with the Blues in 2002.

He made his debut in August 1998 against Australia, but it was 1999 when he really made a name for himself in the All Blacks line-up, playing in a number of games and coming off the bench to good effect in the World Cup.

Although he is currently playing second fiddle to Greg Somerville, his try-scoring record means he is an ideal man to have on the bench.

Lists his interests as art and pig hunting.
