AARON MAUGER

Born: 29.11.80
Height: 5ft 9in
Weight: 14st 6lb
Position: Centre/Fly-half
Club: Canterbury
Caps: 15
Points: 38

A talented back for both the Canterbury club and the All Blacks, Mauger has scored 5 tries in his 15 appearances for his country.

Making his debut against Ireland in November 2001 – where he scored a try - he is good with the ball in hand, a powerful defender and a useful goal-kicker.

Equally as comfortable at fly-half or inside centre, he spent eight weeks on the sidelines this season with a heel injury which meant he was rested for New Zealand's first three Tests of the season in June.

But he came back against South Africa in Pretoria, and has kept his place at inside centre since then despite filling four backline positions for the Crusaders in the Super 12 series this season.

He celebrates his 23rd birthday exactly one week after the World Cup Final.
