BYRON KELLEHER

Born: 03.12.76
Height: 5ft 7in
Weight: 14st 3lb
Position: Scrum-half
Club: Otago
Caps: 24
Points: 20

Although he was a fixture in the New Zealand side a couple of years ago, Kelleher is now probably the All Blacks third-choice No 9 behind Justin Marshall and Sean Devine.

He made his debut in June 1999 against Samoa, and scored two tries at the 1999 World Cup, including one against England.

Voted New Zealand's Super 12 Player of the Year in 1999, Kelleher is clearly still in coach John Mitchell's plans after being called into training squads during the Tri-Nations, but he faces a tough battle to oust Devine as the reserve to Marshall.

A fine defender with a good running game, Kelleher faces increasing pressure at club level from the ever-improving Danny Lee, who himself has made two appearances for the All Blacks.
