CHRIS JACK

Born: 05.09.78
Height: 6ft 6in
Weight: 17st 6lb
Position: Lock
Club: Canterbury
Caps: 20
Points: 10

Jack's Test career started in style, scoring a try shortly after coming onto the field in June 2001 against Argentina.

The younger brother of Canterbury second-row forward Graham, Chris was voted New Zealand Rugby's Player of the Year for 2002.

Forming a fine partnership with Ali Williams at lock, Jack is a superb athlete despite his 6ft 6in frame, and is now considered one of the first names on the All Blacks team-sheet.

One of the youngest lock forwards to play Super 12 rugby when he made his debut for the Crusaders at the age of 20, Jack is excellent in the line-out and also a rugged defender.

Sure to get plenty of game time with New Zealand only naming two other specialist second-rowers, Williams and Brad Thorn.
