WORLD CUP NEW ZEALAND

COREY FLYNN

Born: 05.01.81
Height: 6ft
Weight: 16st 7lb
Position: Hooker
Club: Canterbury
Caps: 0
Points: 0

The only uncapped player in New Zealand's World Cup squad, Flynn joined Super 12 side Canterbury this season.

A hooker by trade, Flynn started his Super 12 career with the Crusaders, and has represented New Zealand at U19, U21 and Maori level.

A tireless worker, he has had a disrupted season after breaking his arm against the Stormers in South Africa, and is likely to start as the All Blacks third-choice hooker behind Keven Mealamu and Mark Hammett.

He comes from a famous rugby family with one uncle, Aaron, having also played for the Crusaders, while another uncle, Robbie, played five tests for the USA.

Proving he is a capable athlete, Corey also won the U17 Double Sculls at the 1997 New Zealand Rowing Championships.

Although he is unlikely to start the tournament in the starting side, he could well come onto the bench if Mealamu or Hammett get injured or suffer a loss of form.
