JERRY COLLINS

Weight: 16st 2lb
Position: Number Eight/Flanker
Club: Wellington
Caps: 8
Points: 0

A rugged forward with eight Test caps to his name, Jerry Collins was born in Samoa and is a cousin of All Blacks team-mate Tana Umaga.

He made his debut for New Zealand in June 2001 against Argentina, but then spent a long time out of the game after suffering a broken leg which then failed to heal properly.

But the former schoolboy, U19, Colts and A team representative bounced back in 2003, playing seven of his eight Tests and cementing a place in the New Zealand side.

Although he faces competition for his place from Wellington team-mate Rodney So'oialo, expect this uncompromising player in both attack and defence to get the nod for the number eight jersey.

Helped New Zealand to victory over Australia in August when he stole the ball from a Wallaby ruck, as George Gregan stood and watched, which was then helped on for Doug Howlett to grab his second try of the match.
