DANIEL CARTER

Born: 5.03.82
Height: 5ft 9in
Weight: 14st 3lb
Position: Centre/Fly-half
Club: Canterbury
Caps: 4
Points: 43

Another member of the awesome Canterbury outfit, Carter is a talented fly-half who shone in last year's U21 World Cup in South Africa.

Since making his senior debut he has amassed 43 points in just four Tests, showing his worth as a fine goal-kicker as well as scoring two tries.

His first three Tests came within just over a month of each other earlier this year, making appearances against Wales, France and Australia, and his inclusion in the side at outside centre gives New Zealand a more reliable goal-kicker if Carlos Spencer is out of form with the boot.

Likely to be on the bench for the All Blacks once the World Cup gets under way, but his all-round ability, plus kicking skills, means he could well come into the team if anything goes wrong for John Mitchell's men.
