PALIOS PRAISE FOR ENGLAND

Football Association chief executive Mark Palios has added his praise to the chorus of congratulations for England's Rugby World Cup triumph.

England are on their way back to England after beating Australia in the World Cup final and FA boss Palios has lavished praise on Clive Woodward and his squad.

He said: "On behalf of everyone at the FA and within our sport, our congratulations go out to the England rugby team for their magnificent victory in Australia.

"Our best wishes go to Clive Woodward and his coaches, Martin Johnson and all the players and to the RFU board and council on what is a wonderful achievement for rugby and for sport in our country."

The FA however have dismissed reports suggesting they might call on Woodward's expertise to help Sven-Goran Eriksson's men reach similar heights.
