ENGLAND
Jason Robinson: Comfortable throughout under the high ball, solid in the tackle and made the run that set up the game-breaking try for Greenwood. 8/10
Dan Luger: Dropped a high kick early on and looked uncomfortable before being swiftly replaced at half-time. 5
Will Greenwood: Looked strong on rare occasions when he got the ball. Spurned one chance, but took try well before departing after 55 minutes. 7
Mike Tindall: Quiet and ineffective in first half, but made some inroads later on. 6
Ben Cohen: Started badly with a poor error but made some strong runs and produced one excellent try-saving tackle. 7
Jonny Wilkinson: Off colour in the first half, kicking and handling poorly. More like his usual self after the break. 8
Matt Dawson: Struggled to make an impact before giving way to Bracken after 67 minutes. 6
Justin Leonard: Allowed Wales to dominate early on and was replaced by Trevor Woodman after 46 minutes. 6
Steve Thompson: Some poor line-out work early on, but raised his game in second half. 6
Phil Vickery: Needed to improve after the break to snuff out the Welsh threat. 7
Martin Johnson: Certainly not his usual self, but looked to have tightened up on the disciplinary front. 6
Ben Kay: Worked hard but was sloppy in the first half. Lewis Moody: Another hard worker and saved a certain-looking try in the first half. 7
Neil Back: Conceded needless penalties in the first half. Not greatly impressive. 5
Lawrence Dallaglio: Looked slow and second best on many occasions. 6
Replacements:
Trevor Woodman: Worked hard after replacing Leonard. 6
Kyran Bracken: Looked lively than Dawson after replacing him late on. 6
Mike Catt: Made a big difference after his half-time introduction. Perked England up no end. 7
Stuart Abbott: Proved a hard-working replacement for Greenwood. 6
WALES
Gareth Thomas: An excellent, strong-running performance. Lively throughout and created good pressure. 8
Mark Jones: Also put England under pressure and was dangerous when given space. 7
Mark Taylor: Occasionally a threat and produced one brilliant tackle and a vital time. 7
Iestyn Harris: Engineered chances when given space to work, but could have done with nailing late penalty. 7
Shane Williams: Broke the line up a couple of times and outstanding in build up for first try. 8
Stephen Jones: Excellent handling and took his try well, but his missed goalkicks proved costly. 7
Gareth Cooper: Brilliant break for first try, kicked well, handling was slick and his runs forceful. 8
Iestyn Thomas: Hard-working in the front row. 7
Robin McBryde: Started well, but line-outs went a bit wayward under pressure late on. Off after 66 minutes. 6
Adam Jones: Left the field injured after 29 minutes. Replaced by Gethin Jenkins. 5
Brent Cockbain: Another strong worker, particularly on a couple of drives forward. 7
Robert Sidoli: Lively early and spurned a great try-scoring opportunity under pressure, but went quiet as the game wore on. 6
Dafydd Jones: Grafted strongly throughout. 6
Colin Charvis: Good driving try from line-out, inspirational as captain. 8
Jonathan Thomas: Tackled strongly before taking a breather after 57 minutes: 7
Replacements:
Mefin Davies: Little chance make an impact after replacing McBryde. 6
Gethin Jenkins: Came on early for Adam Jones but handling let him down. 6
Gareth Llewellyn: On after 45 minutes. Struggled to get a grip as England took over. 5
Martyn. Williams: Took try well after 56th-minute entrance. 7
Dwayne Peel: Involved in third Welsh try after late introduction and kicked well. 6
Ceri Sweeney: Little time in field, used when Stephen Jones was cut. 5
