73 min: TRY - JAQUE FOURIE. Willemse speeds down the open left flank and passes to Fourie who gets over through is own momentum though the final ball looked suspiciously forward. Louis Koen fails with the conversion attempt.

72 min: Stephen So'oialo is penalised for tackling before the ball is out of the scrum and South Africa pump the ball downfield to gain ground.

40 min: TRY - JUAN SMITH. John Smit dummies his way past a tackler in midfield and then feeds Smith who has the simple task to run the 10 yards for the try to put South Africa in control.

39 min: Krige again breaks the Samoa line but van Niekerk knocks the offload forward.

38 min: The ball is played back to Hougaard again and he hooks a second attempt well wide of the posts.

37 min: South Africa spurn another try-scoring chance as Hougaard finds lots of space and Thinus Delport tries to offload three yards from the line only for the ball to be spilled.

36 min: South Africa concede another penalty to try and stop the Samoans opening the game up.

21 min: At last a thrilling run from the Samoans that ends with Lome Fa'atau being bundled into touch near the South African line.
