ALAN QUINLAN

Born: 13.07.74
Height: 6ft 3in
Weight: 15st 10lb
Position: Flanker
Club: Munster
Caps: 16
Points: 5

Quinlan, like his Munster and Ireland team-mate Paul O'Connell, is a typically hard-working flank forward.

Having made his debut in the 1999 World Cup against Romania, this will be the 29-year-old's second experience of rugby's showpiece, yet between the two tournaments he has won just 16 caps as he has flitted between the senior and A sides.

Usually used as a replacement when the likes of Victor Costello tire, Quinlan is unlikely to be a starter Down Under, but is a capable understudy for the top men.
