WORLD CUP IRELAND
Picture Maggs - perfect foil for O'Driscoll.

KEVIN MAGGS

Born: 03.06.74
Height: 5ft 11in
Weight: 14st
Position: Centre
Club: Bath
Caps: 53
Points: 65

Bristolian Maggs, who qualifies for Ireland through his Limerick-born grandfather, was a late starter in rugby - taking up the game at the age of 17.

His international debut came just six years later, and only injuries have kept him out of the Ireland squad since although the presence of Rob Henderson has meant he is not guaranteed a starting spot when fit.

Prior to Henderson's emergence, Maggs had formed a superb partnership in the Ireland centres with Brian O'Driscoll.

A strong defender and dangerous attacker, allying pace and power, Maggs is the perfect foil for O'Driscoll.
