Ulster's most-capped player, Longwell has been churning out impressive displays for his province for over a decade and was a key player in their European Cup-winning side of 1999.
His international career has not been such plain sailing, but since breaking into the senior squad at the tail end of 2000, the 31-year-old has become a regular feature in the Irish second row.
A hard-working, reliable presence in the side, the fact Longwell had to wait until after his 29th birthday to make his debut has merely increased his hunger to continue to perform at the highest level.
