Born in Ireland but raised in Australia from the age of seven, Gleeson returned to Ireland two years ago after struggling to make the breakthrough down under.
He had played eight Super 12 games for New South Wales but had failed to gain the international recognition he craved and returned 'home'.
He has since gone on to win 16 caps for the country of his birth and is a vital member of the Ireland squad.
