WORLD CUP WALES
Picture Williams - feared forward.

MARTYN WILLIAMS

Born: 01.09.75
Height: 5ft 11in
Weight: 15st 8lb
Position: Flanker
Club: Cardiff Blues
Caps: 36
Points: 5

Part of International Rugby News' Welsh League Team of the Season, Williams is the 'Mr Consistency' of Welsh rugby.

Having captained the Welsh Under-21 side, he joined their senior squad for the 2000 Six Nations.

In February 2001 he returned to the national team for the Six Nations campaign and made a major contribution to Wales' win over France in Paris.

His outstanding form earned him a place on the British and Irish Lions tour of Australia later that year where his commitment and appetite for the battle were evident.

He remains a feared forward and along with Colin Charvis, adds much needed fire to the Welsh dragon.
