Charvis heads Down Under as Wales captain, but with no club side.
The mammoth back-row forward left Swansea when they went into temporary administration and is still without a club.
He pledged his future to the Neath-Swansea regional side but then got injured and had to rely on a £10,000 donation from sponsors to cover his costs up to the World Cup.
Despite his problems, though, Charvis remains a world-class performer on his day and is arguably the most destructive flanker in the European game.
In 1999 his attitude was questioned by coach Graham Henry and four months later he was sent off in the World Cup clash with Argentina.
But that is all behind him now, and with his future pretty much dependant on his World Cup performances, expect to see Charvis at his dominant best.
