JASON WHITE

Born: 17.04.78
Height: 6ft 5in
Weight: 18st
Position: Flanker/Lock
Club: Sale Sharks
Caps: 33
Points: 20

White broke onto the international scene in Scotland's Calcutta Cup win in 2000.

He went on to tour New Zealand, playing in both Tests and cementing his place in the Scotland team.

He then played against USA, Australia and Samoa; all this just three years after skippering the under-19 national side at the World Junior Championship.

But White had an up-and-down year in 2001.

He was named in the Six Nations squads that faced France and Wales, but was then dropped for the clash with England, despite coach Ian McGeechan describing him as "a superb squad member".

He came off the bench for Scotland's 2004 Six Nations opener against Wales and impressed new coach Matt Williams enough to earn a starting-place against England.

His latest cap comes at the expense of Edinburgh flanker Allister Hogg.
