WORLD CUP SCOTLAND
Picture Ross - classy fly-half.

GORDON ROSS

Born: 08.03.78
Height: 5ft 8in
Weight: 12st 10lb
Position: Fly-half
Club: Leeds
Caps: 9
Points: 47

Ross' emergence as a fly-half of genuine top-class ability was one of the features of Scotland's autumn internationals.

His assurance and control were key factors in the win against South Africa after he returned as joint top-scorer from the summer tour of North America.

Ross had made gradual progress through the ranks and was a key figure in the Scotland A team during their Six Nations campaign in 2002.

He made his full debut for Scotland in 2001, claiming a record 23 points in the 43-20 success against Tonga.

His fine form for Leeds Tykes and immaculate goal-kicking mean he is edging in front of Duncan Hodge and Gregor Townsend in the race for the fly-half role.
