Henderson has been in and out of the Scotland side since making his debut two years ago as a 21-year-old.
Then, he burst onto the scene with a try after coming on as a replacement in the 32-10 Six Nations victory over Ireland but by the end of the tournament, he was back on A team duty.
He toured with the Scots in North America last year, crossing for his second international try in the process, but again found himself on the fringes on his return.
So 10 caps in three years is the sum total of the centre's international career thus far but if he can shine at the World Cup, it would take a brave coach to leave him out.
