BREYTON PAULSE

Born: 25.04.76
Height: 5ft 8in
Weight: 12st 6lb
Position: Wing
Club: Stormers
Caps: 39
Points: 80

A real speedster for South Africa, Paulse already has 17 Test tries to his name in just 39 outings.

Having won gold in both the 200 and 400 metres in the Schools Sports Association of SA Championships, he made his Test debut in June 1999 against Italy, scoring a hat-trick of tries.

However his last Test outing was back in November 2002 against England, and the veteran winger struggled to overcome a niggling knee injury this season to take his place in South Africa's World Cup squad.

If he is fully fit then he is one of the few South African players selected for the World Cup with real flair, and he is sure to prove a real favourite Down Under.

As well as his Test debut hat-trick, he also scored a hat-trick in his first provincial match in 1996.
