LOUIS KOEN

Born: 07.07.75
Height: 5ft 10in
Weight: 13st 6lb
Position: Fly-half
Club: Bulls
Caps: 11
Points:125

A fly-half who made his Test debut in July 2000 against Australia, Koen has amassed 125 points in just 11 outings for his country.

Koen is a former junior star, representing South Africa at Schools, U19 and U21 level, and has also played for the Stormers, Cats and Bulls in the Super 12 competition.

Involved with the Sport for Christ organization as a devout Christian, Koen is much-maligned by critics in South Africa, who say he lacks imagination in his on-field role.

He has signed a contract with French club Narbonne, who he will join when the World Cup finishes, and will do so after hitting form this season with both the Bulls and the Springboks after being unwanted by the Cats and hardly playing in 2002.

A superb kicker, South African fans will hope to see him run with the ball when the World Cup gets under way.
