WERNER GREEFF

Born: 14.07.77
Height: 6ft 1in
Weight: 14st 4lb
Position: Full-back/Centre/Wing
Club: Stormers
Caps: 9
Points: 26

An exciting utility back, Greeff made his Test debut against Argentina in June 2002.

He then shone in the 2002 Tri-Nations series, scoring a superb try against the All Blacks and a match-winner against the Wallabies.

But he hasn't played Test rugby this year after suffering badly damaged ankle ligaments in a Super 12 match for the Stormers against the Blues in April, and only made it into the World Cup squad after proving his fitness in training camps.

Although mainly used as a full-back, he can also play at centre or on the wing, and his recovery from injury is a huge boost to the Springboks.

A useful goal-kicker, he owns a fast-food franchise and plays off four on the golf course.
