NEIL DE KOCK

Born: 20.11.78
Height: 5ft 8in
Weight: 12st 6lb
Position: Scrum-half
Club: Stormers
Caps: 6
Points: 5

A former South African U21, U23 and A team representative, de Kock made his Test debut against Italy in June 2001.

However injury meant he missed out on the 2002 Super 12 season, and with Johannes 'Bolla' Conradie taking first his place with the Stormers, and then with the Springboks, it looked a long road back for de Kock.

But he won his place back in the Springboks team towards the end of 2002, and since then has stepped up to earn selection for the World Cup.

Chosen to skipper Western Province in this season's Currie Cup, de Kock will start as back-up scrum-half to Springboks skipper Joost van der Westhuizen.

Scored a spectacular long-range try against the NSW Waratahs in this year's Super 12, and also has a Test try against New Zealand to his name.
