Renowned for his high work-rate, skill with the ball in hand and surprising pace for a big man, Young is a regular in the Australian pack at loose-head prop.

Made his senior debut in November 2000 against France, and has also represented the Australian Under-21s and Australian Barbarians.

Young is contracted with the ACT Brumbies until the end of the 2004 season, with an option of staying on for another season, and his coach David Nucifora is full of praise for his charge.

He said: "He is an experienced, world-class prop and has been outstanding over the last few years especially."

Young joined the Brumbies in 1998 from club rugby in Sydney, where he grew up, and has been a regular in the Canberra-based club's formidable pack ever since.
