Points: 10
Despite making his Test debut back in 1998 against South Africa, Whitaker's opportunities have been restricted due to George Gregan's dominance of the scrum-half position.
With Gregan under pressure many people in Australia believe Whitaker should be given the chance to show what he can do, especially given his dangerous attacking game and courageous defence.
Was Rookie of the Year in his first Super 12 season in 1998, making his Test match debut as a makeshift stand-off in the same season, and a year later was part of Australia's 1999 World Cup-winning squad.
However he still only has 15 caps to his name to date, but if Gregan is absent through injury or lack of form then Australia have a quality replacement ready and waiting.
Australia's main concern might be the lack of game time he has had this season, going 11 weeks without a game at one stage as he constantly warmed the Wallabies bench without any meaningful action.
