NATHAN SHARPE

Born: 26.02.78
Height: 6ft 6in
Weight: 18st 1lb
Position: Lock
Club: Queensland Reds
Caps: 13
Points: 5

The 6ft 6in Sharpe made his debut for the Wallabies, along with Mat Rogers, in the 29-17 victory over France last June in Melbourne, and since then has made a big impression.

Sharpe won the 2002 'Australian Rugby Medal For Excellence', and although he needed a shoulder reconstruction the same year has recovered well to add to his Test caps.

Sporting a shaved head under his scrum cap, Sharpe is a former Australian Under-19 and Under-21 representative, as well as being a possible future Queensland captain, according to Wallabies team-mate Toutai Kefu.

Sharpe has only scored one Test try in his short career, but it was a key one – against New Zealand at Stadium Australia when Australia went on to win 16-14 thanks to a penalty on the stroke of full-time.
