JEREMY PAUL

Born: 14.03.77
Height: 6ft
Weight: 16st 4lb
Position: Hooker
Club: ACT Brumbies
Caps: 37
Points: 30

New Zealand-born Paul moved to Australia at an early age and was selected to represent Queensland's youth team, before graduating to the national Under-19s for the 1995 and 1996 seasons.

Although he played the role of understudy to Marco Caputo in the 1998 Super 12 series, he soon won his first Test cap against Scotland in Sydney.

He then displayed fine form for the next couple of seasons in the Super 12, showing great athleticism and strength and making the hooking position his own for the Wallabies.

A serious knee injury in 2001 suffered in the first Test against the British and Irish Lions hampered his progress, but he came back to reclaim his Test spot.

However he has since dropped below Brendan Cannon in the pecking order for the hooking role, and is coming under increasing pressure from the ever-improving Adam Freier.
