CHRIS LATHAM

Born: 08.09.75
Height: 6ft 3in
Weight: 15st 7lb
Position: Full-back/Wing
Club: Queensland Reds
Caps: 38
Points: 95

Despite not playing his first game of rugby union until he was 18, Latham has gone on to make 38 appearances for the Wallabies, scoring 19 tries.

He is currently locked in a battle for the full-back spot with Joe Roff and Matthew Burke, although he can also play in the wing position.

Secure at the back and imaginative in attack, Latham started his career as a footballer until switching to union, and was soon making his debut for the NSW Waratahs.

After struggling to get a start at full-back because of the presence of Burke, he switched to Queensland, making his Wallabies debut in November 1998 against France.

Since then he has been a regular in Wallaby squads, while for Queensland he continues to score sensational tries.

Although he had been linked with a lucrative move to Europe after the World Cup, Latham signed a new deal with the Queensland Reds earlier this year.
