Regarded as one of the best schoolboy rugby players Australia has seen, Flatley has still only 27 caps to his name despite making his debut back in 1997 against England.
He made his Queensland debut back in 1996, becoming the youngest player to do so since Michael Lynagh, and went on to become a key component in the Australian Under-21 squad that year and again the following year.
His Test debut against England came when a hand injury ruled David Knox out, but it's only in recent times that he has started to cement his spot in the side.
Equally as comfortable in the centres or at fly-half, he is pushing current number 10 Stephen Larkham all the way.
With the added advantage of being a fine goal-kicker, Flatley looks set to play a key role for the Wallabies at the World Cup.
Scored two tries coming on as a substitute in the 32–31 defeat at the hands of England at Twickenham last November.
