BEN DARWIN

Born: 17.10.76
Height: 6ft 1in
Weight: 18st 1lb
Position: Prop
Club: ACT Brumbies
Caps: 22
Points: 0

The English-born Darwin is a man mountain in the ACT Brumbies pack, usually playing alongside fellow Wallabies Ben Young and Jeremy Paul.

The tight-head prop, who will turn 27 during the tournament, suffered an ankle injury in 2002 which saw him drop behind Patricio Noriega in the pecking order, but with Australia having problems in that position he remains a key member of the Wallabies squad.

Darwin made his Wallaby debut against the Lions in the first Test at the Gabba in Brisbane in 2001, but had already represented the Australian U21s in 1997 and the Australian Barbarians a year later.

Recently re-signing with the Brumbies for another two years, Darwin suffered a knee injury in the Tri-Nations 50-21 defeat against the All Blacks and was ruled out for the rest of that series.
