Weight: 17st
Position: Hooker
Club: NSW Waratahs

Australia's first-choice hooker, Cannon made his Test debut against the British and Irish Lions in July 2001.

An all-action forward, Cannon started out with the Queensland Reds, but moved to the NSW Waratahs after spending six years trying to displace Michael Foley in the Reds side.

Recently signed a new two-year deal with the Waratahs; Cannon was involved in a horrific accident just before his 20th birthday, having his car clipped by another vehicle into the path of an oncoming lorry.

But six months later he was back playing rugby, and he is now ahead of Jeremy Paul and Adam Frier in the battle for the Wallabies number two jersey.

Now 30, Cannon has been in superb form this season, and a good performance at the World Cup could seal him the hooking role for the Wallabies for the next few years.
