Schubert made his Test debut against Japan in May 2000, after representing his country at Under-19 level.
A Collegiate All-American from 1998-2002, he is also a winner of the University of California Athlete of the Year, an award which is given to the outstanding athlete over all the different varsity sports.
Schubert has made 25 senior appearances for his country, including an outing as skipper in the recent game against Argentina in Buenos Aires.
Still a student, this will be Schubert's first World Cup.
