RYAN BANKS

Born: 02.02.72
Position: Number Eight/Flanker
Club: Burnaby Lake

A back-row forward with 35 caps to his name, Banks was the skipper of the Canadian national team in the absence of the injured Al Charron.

A former All-Canadian gridiron player at Simon Fraser University, Banks played in the 1999 World Cup and then spent a season in England with the Bedford club a year later.

Currently back playing in Canada for his hometown team Burnaby Lake, he is married to Heather Wilson-Banks, an international women's rugby player.

Now 31, Banks is a formidable opponent who will relish the chance to compete on the highest stage in world rugby.
