Position: Scrum-half
Club: Stade Francais
The scorer of 12 Test tries, scrum-half Pichot is a superstar in Argentina.
A world-class player, Pichot is full of tricks and is equally adept at setting a team-mate up or running with the ball.
Known as 'Fichin', his Test debut came against Australia in April 1995, shortly after the World Cup, and he has worn the Pumas number 9 jersey with pride ever since as well as captaining his country at the 2001 Sevens World Cup.
He formed a fine partnership with countryman Felipe Contepomi at Bristol, but then moved to Stade Francais after the Shoguns were relegated from the Premiership.
Missed nine months of international rugby due to an injured ankle, before making his comeback to Test rugby in August.
A genuine star in a Pumas line-up which is expected to perform well at this World Cup, Pichot will captain the side in the absence of injured skipper Lizandro Arbizu.
