A huge prop forward, Yamamura chose rugby over Sumo wrestling.

Having turned down a number of offers to become a professional Sumo wrestler because of his love for rugby, Yamamura is now using his size and strength to good effect in the Japan pack.

Surprisingly mobile for such a big man, Yamamura is one of his country's most recognisable players.

Plays his club rugby in Japan for Kanto-Gakuin University, but is expected to really hit the big-time if can perform in Australia.
