DAISUKE OHATA
Born: 11.11.75
Position: Wing
Club: Montferrand
One of Japan's most popular sportsmen, Ohata plays his club rugby in France.
Yet despite scoring a remarkable 32 tries in just 30 outings for Japan, it is his efforts on a television programme that have gained him so much popularity.
A regular on 'Kinniku Banzuke' (Muscle Power), Ohata took out the title of 'Japan's No.1 Sports Player' by coming out on top after a series of events against other high-profile sportspeople.
A former Sevens star, Ohata has blistering speed and knows Australia well, having played for the Northern Suburbs club in Sydney.
Typically, the Aussies gave him the nickname 'Dingo'.
