A powerful scrum-half, Martens is well known in Wales after helping Bridgend to the Welsh Premiership title.
He joined Bridgend from Swansea and is solidly built as well as being a strong runner, good kicker and a shrew distributor of the ball.
At just 26 Martens has many years left in him at the top level, and he did as much as anyone to help Tonga to the World Cup finals, scoring twice against Korea in Seoul and once in the second leg at home to secure a place in group D.
Has also played in England for Worcester, and counts fellow Tongan Aisea Havili among his team-mates at Celtic Warriors.
