CARLOS SPENCER

Born: 14.10.75
Height: 6ft
Weight: 14st 10lb
Position: Fly-half
Club: Auckland
Caps: 22
Points: 250

A points-scoring machine, Spencer has already amassed 250 in just 22 Tests, which included a haul of 33 on his Test debut against Argentina in June 1997.

New Zealand's first-choice fly-half, Spencer can also play in the full-back role, but it's in the No 10 jersey he has made his name.

At the age of 18 he had been earmarked to replace the legendary Grant Fox in the Auckland side, and just a few years later he was breaking all sorts of records in the year he made his Test debut.

Those records included becoming the fourth player to score 200 points in a calendar year for the All Blacks as well as amassing hauls of 20 and 25 points in games against South Africa.

Until this season, though, he has been in and out of the team, but he now seems to have the fly-half position sewn up.

Although he is a fine goal-kicker, he probably isn't quite up there with the best in the world.
