CHRIS PATERSON

Born: 30.03.78
Height: 6ft
Weight: 12st 5lb
Position: Wing
Club: Edinburgh
Caps: 35
Points: 147

One of the fastest players in the Scottish squad and a dependable goal-kicker if called upon, Paterson will snap up any chances that go his way in the weeks ahead.

He made his international debut in the 1999/2000 season at full back in the World Cup win over Spain, scoring his first Test try against New Zealand and following it up with a sparkling effort against the USA.

That summer tour was the makings of Paterson as an international player as he crossed for two tries in a 21-point haul against East Coast Poverty Bay.

He caught the eye with four touchdowns in three games earlier this year, with single tries against Romania and Canada followed a brace against the USA.

He has a proven track record in the Six Nations competition – with a fantastic long-range effort against Wales in 2001 still burning bright in the memory – and will hope to step up to the next level Down Under.
