ANTHONY FOLEY

Born: 30.10.73
Height: 6ft 3in
Weight: 17st 4lb
Position: Number Eight
Club: Munster
Caps: 45
Points: 15

Munster number eight Foley has been around the Irish scene for some time now but remains one of their most influential performers.

He made his Ireland debut back in January 1995, scoring their sole try against England, and went on to play in the three remaining Five-Nations games and also in the pre-World Cup match against Italy.

During the 1995 World Cup he made one appearance, a brief sting as a substitute against Japan.

After a brief spell out of the limelight, he returned to the side during the 1999/00 season and has been a regular ever since.

He briefly had a spell as captain where he was able to channel his aggression to the benefit of his side.

His work in the scrum is outstanding and he adds considerable steel in defence.
