Wales ran five tries past Canada to get their World Cup campaign off to a winning start in Melbourne.
Importantly, Steve Hansen's side earned a bonus point which, in the race to qualify from Pool D, could prove crucial.
Iestyn Harris was dynamic in midfield and impeccable with the boot as he landed two penalties and five conversions to tries from Sonny Parker, Gareth Cooper, Mark Jones, captain Colin Charvis and finally Gareth Thomas.
The gap between the professionals and part-timers was clear, but Canada managed one consolation score through replacement prop Kevin Tkachuk.
