Tindall earned the respect of his team-mates with solid, honest performances for his country in the World Cup series.
England's tactics meant that except against the minnows, the running game was not an option - and that significantly reduced the chance for those outside Jonny Wilkinson to shine.
With Bath top of the league, the centre began the year riding high but the injury he sustained against Saracens ruled him out of the first three matches of the Six Nations campaign.
With Iain Balshaw stuggling to justify Sir Clive Woodward's faith in him, though, Tindall returned against Wales and appears to be the first choice when fit.
