Wales showed signs of steady improvement under coach Steve Hansen's steely
gaze, but perhaps the most notable event was number eight Scott Quinnell's
retirement from Test rugby after winning 52 caps.
Quinnell quit following the Canada game, which was Wales' third successive
November win as they prepared to meet the mighty All Blacks.
Wales trailed just 22-17 at the end of 80 minutes, but 21 points in injury
time enabled New Zealand to record an emphatic victory, although Hansen could
still take great heart from displays by several promising newcomers, notably
centre Sonny Parker, lock Robert Sidoli and flanker Dafydd Jones.
