Smith - top prop in Europe?

Tom Smith shot to prominence on the 1997 British Lions tour to South Africa.

He starred against the same country in the autumn too where he was outstanding in the loose and the scrum.

Smith is a battle hardened front-row forward and arguably the finest exponent of his art in the northern hemisphere.

He was named Scotland Player of the Season for 2000-20011 and late that year played in all three Tests on the British and Irish Lions tour of Australia.
