HOW THE ENGLAND PLAYERS RATED
By Andrew Baldock, PA Sport Rugby Union Correspondent
Josh Lewsey: England's outstanding young full-back produced another impressive
performance. Relishes the international stage. 7
Jason Robinson: Had few options to shine in attack, but did all that was asked
of him in every part of the pitch. 7
Will Greenwood: England's midfield creator had another memorable game for his
country, scoring two tries to give him 24 in Tests. 8
Mike Tindall: The under-rated Bath centre scored England's decisive second try
to complete a richly-satisfying Six Nations campaign. 7
Ben Cohen: Northampton wing Cohen didn't have too many opportunities to
threaten, yet he didn't put a foot wrong. 7
Jonny Wilkinson: A masterful performance from England's gifted fly-half. He
bossed the game tactically and kicked 15 points, including two vital drop-goals.
9
Matt Dawson: A typically gutsy display by England's scrum-half. Always at the
core of an impressive England performance. 7
Graham Rowntree: Solidity itself in the scrums, before going off in the
second-half to be replaced by Trevor Woodman. 7
Steve Thompson: A robust and wonderfully powerful showing from the Northampton
hooker. Probably the best No 2 in world rugby at present. 8
Jason Leonard: Became the first post-war England player to win four Grand
Slams on the day he won his 102nd cap to overtake David Campese as world rugby's
second-most capped player of all time. 7
Martin Johnson: Led England for the first time in a Grand Slam game, and
relished every moment. A colossal influence throughout. 8
Ben Kay: Part of a superb England forward effort. Took his share of knocks,
but always bounced back for more. 7
Richard Hill: Arguably the best back-row forward in world rugby, he was at the
centre of England's game-plan throughout. A huge performance. 8
Neil Back: Never tires of hard work at the forward coal-face. Part of a
brilliant breakaway unit alongside Hill and Lawrence Dallaglio.
Lawrence Dallaglio: Back to his very best following major knee surgery in
2001, and today's display was right up there in the top drawer. 9
Replacements:
Trevor Woodman: The Gloucester prop went on for Rowntree after 46 minutes. A
fine display. 7
Dan Luger: The Harlequins wing replaced injured centre Mike Tindall 12 minutes
from time, scoring England's final try. 7
